The Post

YAY- look what arrived in the post….

The excitement! I am afraid that I have started a new project….again! I saw this blanket in the new brochure that BrooklynTweed has put out and I simply fell in love. The link to the brochure is…http://brooklyntweed.net/blog/?p=733 and the Hourglass Throw is in this document.

I really hope that I am not breaking any rules by showing this pic, but this is what caught my eye. I immediately grabbed my computer and credit card and skulked off to a quiet place to discreetly purchase the wool online!

Another scarf

I have been driven to finish the only other variegated UFO in my house….another scarf. This was started many, many months ago when I wanted to try out the Noro wool. The ball bands were lost so I have no idea on the colours I used. As I said in my last post, I am not a fan of variegated wool but I saw this pattern and thought it looked good….

Pattern here…..

Wool used…..

Leftover wool. One a Noro and the other a cotton.

Once I finished, the scarf was very curly and so I thought it would benefit from a blocking…

All curly

Being blocked

I had to clear at least 3 loads of clean washing off the ironing board in order to block it!

And finished….

Right side- wrong side

Note to self….

1. I live on the Gold Coast- average temp this week in winter is 22 degrees. I have made       4 scarves?!

2.Nipper season starts in 3 weeks, both my boys counting down the sleeps until lifesaving starts…..you will need to be ready for beachgear in 3 weeks! Less time knitting on the couch, more time lacing up runners!

3.So wish I was born to be a lady in Downtown Abbey…..no luck
