Have had a very busy last 2 weeks…
On the crafting front…I am loving the LittleWoolie blanket! This is a crochet-along-thing and the link is here:

So far, mine looks like this…
Its a beauty and I am hanging for the next instalment!
I have been busy with house guests . Some friends from the homeland (South Africa) came to stay for 4 days. Lots of cleaning and sprucing up! This is what can be expected if you get to visit someone on the Gold Coast…
First up, the compulsory trip up Q1 to see the view…
Always a bonus when you see some of the locals at the top….
Then, you get a compulsory hike up the hill at North Burleigh to see the view…look at how clear the sea is!
And if one of your children have a birthday while on the coast, well then, I pull all three of my children out of school for the day (mother-of-the-year-award right there) and you get to spend the day doing FUN things like this…
And yes I did go on the Claw, because I’m brave like that!
You also get a drive to the Spit, a dinner at the Surf Club, a trip to the trawlers for fresh prawns, dinner at Marina Mirage and a shop at Robina Town Centre.
In between all this fun and merriment behaving like tourists in our home town, we also managed to fit in…
A rugby Grand Final game! The middle child captained his club rugby side and they lost in the final minute of the game! It was gut wrenching!
And saying thankyou to the opposing team, his team mates, his coaches and everyones parents for the support…while all the time wanting to cry from disappointment! Life lessons ….
AND…
Head of the River . The eldest rowed her heart out in an attempt to capture glory…
AND..
The middle kid got chosen for the district cricket side and had training…Seriously, how lucky are these 12 yr olds to get to train in such a magnificent setting!?
AND…
Have sat waiting for the youngest to finish his swimming lesson…
AND…
Not photographed is the middle kids basketball game and the youngest kids athletics carnival! Seriously, it is like the olympics every week in my household. Its exhausting just spectating (and fetching and carrying) never mind the continual drain on my purse! After having just purchased a new cricket bat (same price as a new house!), the middle one explained that he NEEDED special cricket shoes with spikes. He was dead sure he was being considered for the spot of opening bowler and you see, if you bowl first there is still dew on the ground, which anyone without spikes would likely slip on…. the sound of his sweet voice being drowned out by the sound of money disappearing at Sportys again…

Your rainbow blanket is so brighty and cheery!

The blanket is stunning (so is “lefty’s”) – don’t know where you find the time, but as soon as my current project is completed, I am going to play catch-up. Children growing up so fast!!!
