I use this blog to document my ‘craftiness’. I love the idea of being crafty and living a creative life but I am not very prolific in finishing ‘stuff’. I am truly in awe of the ladies whose crafty blogs I follow who produce amazing crafty stuff on beautiful blog pages – just wow! Just producing a blog post is time consuming never mind actually making the ‘stuff’ too!
I have an avid following of two people -my Mom and my Aunt who both live an ocean away and who like to follow my crafty endeavours. So this blog is going to document not-so-much finished stuff but rather the ways in which I try to be creative and crafty! There …no pressure to tah-dah…! Also, while producing a decorated cookie is relatively quick, it is taking a toll on my backside so no more cookies either….!
I am anxiously awaiting the next instalment of the crochet- along from LittleWoolie and am ready….
I have also done a few more rows of the blanket I have dubbed ‘martyrdom’….
Every time I pick it up, I feel like a complete martyr. This is because I had finished my wool and was nearly finished the pattern repeat and was patting myself on the back that it had all worked out well – one ball left to finish the blanket. When I went to get that last ball of wool….there were 2 there! Decisions, decisions – just finish off and ignore one ball or press on?!
I debated with myself…the wool had cost a bomb, the blanket would look better if it was longer but I was bored with knitting it! I consider this a sign of character….like not reading the last chapter of a book, not googling who won a reality tv show from another country or, and this is the ultimate, like not finding out the sex of your third child when your husband didn’t make the scan and its just you and the scanning lady and she says “OOh its very clear today, but you didn’t want to know right?”
So I knit on, with a martyred expression, willing it to end!
In other ‘creative’ news…I made a video clip on iMovie. This may not sound like much but it took frigging ages! Hours of googling how to….add music, add photos, add writing, to speed-up, to slow down, to save it, upload to youtube. I sat with my computer open, my husbands computer open and an iPad – all three so I could follow step by step on my computer. I didn’t waste any brain power trying to memorise how to do it because it would seem like things move so quickly that by the time I want to do this again there will be a newer version to download!
So for interested family if you click below you will see a 4min video of our day at the Palio in Siena, the highlight of our recent trip to Europe…
I had Emmas’ rowing crew dinner here last weekend. Such great girls, lots of giggling. The table all set…
Rowing is quite the hip thing to do in Australia at the moment what with them winning gold and all…
I have also been trying to improve my photography skills and got these photos of my Spuddy…
And thats been my craftiness!

Your efforts are really most appreciated – I promise to show a stronger sense of adventure soon and join in the crochet-along with LittleWoolie. Just love the pictures of Spuds and your link. Such gorgeous roses too.
