Well I am obviously back from Japan and have been playing catch-up…mainly with glamorous stuff like laundry, grocery shopping, laundry, getting the kids back to school and laundry.
For family members that are interested….I am ploughing through the billions of photos I took from our holiday to Japan and will do a blog post to share some photos too….
I am keeping up with my photo-a-day and am really trying to do a 365 this year. As this blog is where I document this project I am going to do a big catch-up post so you can click away if it bores you to tears….
DAY 86
During the last week of school term, my children are allowed ‘treat’ breakfasts and this is the youngests’ choice….

DAY 87
The middle child in his room…

DAY 88
We arrived in Tokyo at 11pm at night and this was the street where our hotel was and BEHOLD the cherry blossoms were still out! I cant tell you my excitement…. these cherry blossoms last for about 10 days once a yeaar and I had timed it to perfection….bucket list item ticked off!

DAY 89
The next day we went to Uedo Park to see the locals celebrating Sakura (cherry blossoms) and picnicking in the park….was magnificent….

DAY 90
We arrived, via bullet train, in the skiing village of Nozawa Onsen. My husband doesnt think this is a very good photo of our hotel room as you cant tell that these are tatami mats on the floor! I am just going to say that we managed, we were not precious but they were bloody hard and terribly uncomfortable…thats the truth ….

DAY 91
Out to eat in the village…. I will say that even in a small skiing village you can get amazing pizzas’ and burgers and curries, much to my childrens’ delight but on this evening we went to a Korean bbq restaurant and I love this photo because it captures the 3 offspring battling to grasp the chopsticks….

DAY 92
I only ski for half the day (OK maybe half the half- day) so I would wonder around the village while the family skiied the day away and this image just summed up the little village….

DAY 93
We took a day off and went to see the snow monkeys and they were just amazing….they sit in geo-thermal pools, the water is really hot in these pools (like you could boil an egg)…it was hard to get a really clear shot as the steam rises off the water…all the monkeys have really pink faces…

DAY 94
Sunset over the Japanese Alps…

DAY 95
Some statues in a shrine in the village…

DAY 96
That is my baby in the green helmet and the rest of the offspring at the bottom….and you can see the village of Nozawa Onsen below…

DAY 97
Back in Tokyo….this was a concert in the street where this band played and sang Elvis songs in really bad English…it was the funniest thing and this guy was such a character….

DAY 98
Bird Flu had broken out in China so that is my offspring on the Tokyo metro in masks…a very large percentage of locals wear masks in Japan and we were embracing the trend….

DAY 99
On our way home with Australia below….

DAY 100
WooHoo I have made 100 days of taking a photo everyday and this was my treat…

DAY 101
The youngest…

DAY 102
We saw this wall in a shopping mall and my daughter thought it would make a cool background but she was a litlle self-consious to strike a pose….

DAY 103
A tulip…

Right I am all caught up….yay!
